Alba Power are delighted to be embracing their Scottish heritage and supporting Scotland’s biggest year, the Year of the Homecoming. During this exciting year, Scotland welcomes the Ryder Cup and Commonwealth Games back to Scotland as well as a programme of events and activities to showcase all that’s great about Scotland; mouth-watering food & drink events, lots to get you active in the great Scottish outdoors plus spectacular arts, cultural and ancestral heritage to explore. Supporting their local community, Alba Power are proud sponsors of the Stonehaven Highland Games and the Pipeband Competition. Running in conjunction this year with Homecoming Scotland, the annual Games is a community led event that Alba Power feel very close to. The team are delighted to be part of something that is giving back to the local community, whom many of the workforce are from, and this will mean a great day out for them and their family. The Stonehaven Highland Games which takes place on Sunday 20th July will include the usual firm favourites of highland dancing, heavy and light events and tug of war, as well as stalls and a fun fair, and this year will also see the launch of a new Pipeband Competition which Alba Power will be the exclusive sponsor of. The family event which engages with the local community, thirteen local primary schools and three nearby academies, is likely to attract around 10,000 visitors and is part of the Grampian Games sponsored by Glenfiddich Whiskey.
